  A quantitative research is used to quantify the problem by means of generating Numerical Data while a qualitative research is just used to gain reasons, opinions, and motivations.

In other words (not so specific),

Quantitative Research - Involves quantity or numbers

Qualitative Research - Doesnt involve quantity nor numbers but does include quality, describes using the 5 senses.
